Who can use NCC Navigator?

Each item should start with a heading that will expand into a single sentence/paragraph description when the user hovers over, including a link to click to see more information.

Faster, more detailed and more attractive assessments.

Ongoing connection to a project once the work is completed.

Reduced risk – covering every requirement of the NCC.

More efficient production of reports – including the use of multiple formats from the same data

Use of peer review function

  • Extra work available for building surveyors providing independent review service
  • Improved QA processes with the use of an in-office review
  • Junior building surveyors can build and demonstrate experience with peer reviewed work

Maintain a register of the buildings you have worked on across multiple employers (the assessment is only visible for the company that owns the project, a project summary is available to the assessor for use in accreditation or insurance applications)

Check your compliance as you design

Reduce the time spent redesigning – know compliance requirements and issues earlier

Faster iterations of designs – more regular compliance checks can be done in-house

Get better value from building surveyors – by doing much of the basic compliance review in house, the building surveyors’ time can be focused on resolving more complex issues.

Have access to the assessment to confirm how compliance of specific parts of the building is achieved.

Have access to compliance notes that help you get compliance right on-site

Review the requirements and documents that were assessed in design and connect directly with the assessor to confirm the requirements that need to be met.

When a building is handed over at construction, or sold to new owners, the records of building compliance are often not passed on. By maintaining ownership of the building in NCC Navigator, any building owner can maintain access to all assessment records and documentation relating to the building for use by facilities managers and contractors.

That record includes the original assessments that can be used to guide the ongoing requirements for the building, to assist with maintenance and any fitout or refurbishment works.

Maintain a connection with the original assessor to have questions answered quickly and accurately.

Incorporate your building records into the BOSS platform for ongoing management.

Who is NCC Navigator?

NCC Navigator delivers the future of building compliance assessment.

We developing indispensable tools to drive building compliance with the National Construction Code, or Building Code of Australia for those that have been around for a while.

We have grand plans for the development of the system to improve the way that we carry out and record assessments of building compliance.

For now, we unravel the twisted assessment pathways in the NCC to deliver a straightforward assessment experience.

Simply, our aim is to make your life easier.

Inspired by a speaker at an AIBS conference many years ago, who claimed jokingly to have created a website called selfcertify.com, the idea of software aiding the building compliance assessment process was born.

NCC Navigator started with the concept of using tech to make the assessment process easier and works tirelessly to improve that tech to deliver better building compliance outcomes.

Led by Mark Brentnall, a building surveyor with more than 3 decades of experience in Council, private certification and BCA consulting, building surveyors with more than 100 year’s collective building compliance experience are working to deliver a seamless, robust and accurate assessment platform.

The tech behind NCC Navigator has been developed by Jensen Labs.

They took a vague concept, they drilled down on how it could be developed, tested all the available tech and then build entirely new systems to support what we needed to do.

They are developing the tech we need to take NCC Navigator to unseen levels and love the challenge.

They are highly skilled and enthusiastic and they are prepared to work hard to understand exactly how systems need to work. We can’t recommend them highly enough.
